For freight brokers and 3PLs

Freight broker TMS that quotes, covers, and bills.

Freight broker software, or a TMS for freight brokers, is what a brokerage or 3PL uses to quote the shipper, cover the load with an outside carrier, and invoice the customer, with the margin visible before you tender. TransPlus Logistics Manager runs it on one cloud order record, from $500 per month, billed quarterly, with 1:1 live technical support.

Quote and book in one step.

Rating and quoting, order entry, and bid tracking on one screen. The quote you gave the shipper becomes the order without being keyed again, and the quotes you lost stay on file beside the ones you won.

Book carriers at the right rate.

Carrier search and contracting with the rate you paid on that lane last time beside it, and every carrier's insurance dates and certificates on file with the loads they cover.

Customer and carrier billing in one place.

The customer invoice and the carrier receipt come off the same order and post to QuickBooks or Sage, so nobody keys them twice.

See the margin before you tender.

Carrier rate history and bid tracking show what the lane paid and what you bid. Management reporting shows margin by load and by customer, so you see which freight to keep bidding and which to let go. Outside agents get secure remote access of their own, and the reporting shows which agents brought each load in.

EDI with your shipper customers.

When a shipper says EDI or no contract, the in-house TransPlus EDI team builds the connection, tests it with your shipper, and supports it after go-live. Load tenders, responses, status updates, invoices, and acknowledgments move between their system and your order. EDI is an add-on module, priced as a setup fee, a module fee, and per-transaction fees.

Run your own trucks too? One platform.

If you run trucks of your own, Logistics Manager handles the brokered freight and Fleet Manager handles the trucks, on one platform. A load your driver hauls and a load you cover with an outside carrier bill from one place.

What is a TMS for freight brokers?

A TMS for freight brokers, also called freight broker software, is the system a brokerage or 3PL uses to quote the shipper, build the load, cover it with an outside carrier, invoice the customer, and see the margin on one order record. TransPlus Logistics Manager includes quoting and rating, order entry, carrier search and contracting, carrier rate history, bid tracking, carrier receipt invoicing, and management reporting, from $500 per month, billed quarterly.

How much does a freight broker TMS cost?

Logistics Manager starts at $500 per month on an annual contract, billed quarterly, in CAD or USD depending on where your business operates. EDI, Freight Assist, Freight Tracking, Carrier Tracking, and RMIS are add-on modules quoted separately, and so is the onboarding fee. Every plan includes 1:1 live technical support. The full comparison is on the pricing page.

Do freight brokers need a TMS?

Once a brokerage covers more than a few loads a day, yes. Without one, the same load gets typed into a spreadsheet, a rate confirmation, an invoice, and the accounting system, and nobody knows the margin until month end. A broker TMS takes the load once and carries it from the quote to the carrier to the invoice, with the margin on the order before you tender.

What is the difference between a broker TMS and a carrier TMS?

A carrier TMS runs assets: dispatch, load and asset planning, driver pay, and customer invoicing for trucks you own, which is what Fleet Manager does. A broker TMS runs freight you do not haul: rating and quoting, order entry, carrier search and contracting, carrier rate history, bid tracking, and carrier receipt invoicing, which is Logistics Manager. The carrier's cost is the driver and the truck; the broker's cost is the carrier's rate.

How does Logistics Manager handle carrier onboarding?

Every outside carrier's insurance dates, certificates, and contract details stay on file in Logistics Manager with the loads they cover, next to the rates you have paid them on each lane. RMIS carrier onboarding connects to Logistics Manager and is quoted separately.

How do I see my margin per load?

The margin is on every load in Logistics Manager before you tender. Carrier rate history and bid tracking show what the lane paid and what you bid, and management reporting shows margin by load and by customer, so you see which freight to keep bidding and which to let go.

Can I run brokerage and my own trucks in one system?

Yes. Logistics Manager runs the brokered freight and Fleet Manager runs your own trucks on one platform, so a load your driver hauls and a load you cover with an outside carrier bill from one place. Kriska Transportation Group, which runs truckload, LTL, and brokerage, made TransPlus its standard TMS across 10 companies. Fleet Manager starts at $350 per month and Logistics Manager at $500 per month; no combined price for running both is published.

Can my shippers send loads by EDI?

Yes. EDI is an add-on module set up and run by the in-house TransPlus EDI team, covering 204 load tenders, 990 tender responses, 214 status updates, 210 invoices, and 997 acknowledgments. It is priced as a setup fee, a module fee, and per-transaction fees, and the quote for your shipper comes back before you sign their contract. Details are on the EDI for trucking page.

Does freight broker software connect to QuickBooks?

Logistics Manager does. Customer invoices and carrier receipts post from the order to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, or to Sage 50 or Sage 300, along with customers and vendors, so nobody keys them twice. Accounting integration is included, and TransPlus supports 16 accounting, payroll, and financial systems; the list is on the accounting integrations page.

Can my shippers track their loads?

Yes, with the Freight Tracking add-on. Freight Tracking connects TransPlus to project44, FourKites, Descartes MacroPoint, and FreightVerify, so your shipper sees load status in the network it already uses, without a check call. Carrier Tracking is a separate Logistics Manager add-on.

What does my carrier see?

Only the order details you send them. Carriers see those through your custom Freight Assist portal, an add-on module, rather than through your TMS login. Your team works in the cloud-hosted TMS through a small Windows client on office computers, and outside agents get secure remote access of their own.

How long does it take to go live?

Onboarding takes 30 to 90 days depending on the size of your operation and how much data comes over, with a named onboarding specialist guiding it. Customers, carriers, shippers and consignees come over through TransPlus templates, with the import guided by a person rather than a ticket queue.
