For fleets that file IFTA
]

IFTA reporting software that builds the quarterly report from your loads.

IFTA is the agreement between the 48 contiguous US states and 10 Canadian provinces that lets a carrier report fuel tax on one quarterly return. TransPlus builds the IFTA report from the trips you dispatched: jurisdiction miles and fuel by quarter, ready for you or your filing service to submit. Included in the Enterprise plan, from $650 per month.

Built from the trips.

Jurisdiction miles and fuel come off the loads you already dispatched, so the quarter is built from records you keep every day instead of a spreadsheet rebuilt in the last week of the quarter.

We build it. You file it.

TransPlus produces the IFTA report; it does not file the return. You or your filing service submit it to your base jurisdiction, with the distance and fuel records behind it kept four years.

Miles from the ELD you run.

Truck positions come in live through Samsara, Motive, ISAAC or Geotab, and the report draws on the records you already keep, not on a mileage log somebody rebuilds on the 28th.

Quarter-end in four steps: pull it, review it, export it, keep the records.

Pull the quarter for every truck that ran. Review it truck by truck before you export; the quarter-end job is the exception, not the total. Export the report your base jurisdiction accepts. Keep the distance and fuel records behind it for four years from the date the return was due or filed, whichever is later (tax.ohio.gov and ontario.ca, checked September 15, 2026).

Where the miles and the fuel come from.

Truck positions come in live through Samsara, Motive, ISAAC or Geotab. Fuel cards are one of the five categories in TransPlus's 66 integrations. The trip record is where they meet: the load you dispatched carries the truck, the driver and the lanes, so the miles and the fuel behind the report sit on the same record the invoice and the driver's pay came from.

IFTA reporting comes with the Enterprise plan.

IFTA reporting is included in Fleet Manager Enterprise, from $650 per month, with no user cap. It is not a module and not an add-on: Lite and Standard cannot add it, so a fleet that files IFTA is an Enterprise fleet. Billed quarterly, in CAD or USD.

What is IFTA?
IFTA is the International Fuel Tax Agreement: "an agreement between the 48 contiguous U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces that simplifies the reporting of fuel use taxes by motor carriers operating in multiple jurisdictions" (tax.ohio.gov, checked September 15, 2026). Instead of a return in every state and province you ran, you file one quarterly return with your base jurisdiction. Ontario's page says the same in its own words and confirms the 10 provinces and 48 states (ontario.ca, updated May 19, 2026, checked September 15, 2026).
Who needs an IFTA license?

A carrier that runs qualified motor vehicles in more than one member jurisdiction. Ohio defines them as "3 or more axle vehicles, regardless of weight, and 2 axle vehicles that have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs. or greater, including all trailing (towed) units" (tax.ohio.gov, checked September 15, 2026). Ontario draws the same line in kilograms: two axles and more than 11,797 kg, or three or more axles regardless of weight (ontario.ca, updated May 19, 2026). Your base jurisdiction issues the license.

When are IFTA returns due?
Four times a year, one month after each quarter ends: January to March is due April 30, April to June is due July 31, July to September is due October 31, and October to December is due January 31 (tax.ohio.gov and ontario.ca, both checked September 15, 2026). The dates are the same on both sides of the border. Pull the quarter in the first week after it closes and the review has three weeks of room instead of three days.
Does TransPlus file my IFTA return?
No. TransPlus produces the IFTA report; it does not file the return. The report gives you jurisdiction miles and fuel by quarter, built from the trips you dispatched, and you or your filing service submit it to your base jurisdiction. That split is deliberate: the return is signed by the licensee, and a vendor that says it files for you is usually a filing service, not a TMS. Ask every vendor you shortlist the same question and get the answer in writing.
Which plan includes IFTA reporting?

Fleet Manager Enterprise, from $650 per month, with no user cap. IFTA reporting is not a module and not an add-on: Lite and Standard do not include it and cannot add it, so a fleet that files IFTA is an Enterprise fleet from the first quarter. Fleet Manager starts at $350 per month for Lite, $500 for Standard and $650 for Enterprise; Logistics Manager starts at $500 per month. Every plan is an annual contract billed quarterly, in CAD or USD depending on where your business operates.

Is IFTA reporting an add-on module?
No. IFTA reporting is included in the Enterprise plan and is not sold separately. The add-on modules on every tier are EDI, ACE and ACI e-manifests and Freight Assist; IFTA reporting is not on that list and cannot be bought onto Lite or Standard. If you file IFTA, price the Enterprise plan, and if you cross the border, price the ACE and ACI e-Manifest module beside it, since customs paperwork runs from the same load record.
Where does TransPlus get the miles for each jurisdiction?

From the trips you dispatched and the records you already keep, with your telematics connected: Samsara, Motive, ISAAC and Geotab are among TransPlus's 66 integrations. The trip record ties the truck, the driver and the lanes to the same record that drives the invoice and the driver's pay, so the miles behind the report are not rebuilt from a logbook at quarter end. On your demo you can see how a jurisdiction split is reviewed before export.

Which ELDs and telematics systems does TransPlus pull from?

Samsara, Motive, ISAAC and Geotab are named on our integrations page, and TransPlus has 66 integrations across accounting, fuel cards, telematics, trailer tracking and carrier onboarding in all. Truck positions come in live through the telematics connection, so dispatch sees every unit on the trip board without calling the driver, and the same connection feeds IFTA reporting (Enterprise plan). If your ELD is not on the list, tell us which one you run and we will confirm whether it connects.

How are fuel purchases matched to jurisdictions?

Fuel purchases are the second half of the report: TransPlus pulls jurisdiction miles and fuel into IFTA reporting (Enterprise plan) on the same trip record. Fuel cards are one of the five categories in TransPlus's 66 integrations, alongside accounting, telematics, trailer tracking and carrier onboarding, and Fleet Manager carries fuel receipt and purchase management. Bring the name of the fuel card your fleet runs to the demo and ask to see its purchases land against a quarter.

Does the report handle both US states and Canadian provinces?
Yes. IFTA covers the 48 contiguous US states and 10 Canadian provinces, and TransPlus is run by fleets across Ontario, Quebec and the cross-border lanes. ASL Global Logistics, a fleet based in Canada with a US operation, brought IFTA reporting in-house on TransPlus after paying a third party to do it.
What records do I need to keep, and for how long?
Distance records and proof of tax-paid fuel purchases, for four years from the date the return was due or filed, whichever is later (tax.ohio.gov, checked September 15, 2026). Ontario's rule is the same four years from the due or filing date (ontario.ca, updated May 19, 2026). The report TransPlus builds is the summary; the distance and fuel records behind it are what an auditor asks for, so keep both together for the full four years.
What happens if I file late?
Your base jurisdiction sets the penalty. Ohio's rule: "penalties ($50 minimum or 10% of the tax due whichever is greater), interest, and a notice of proposed revocation" (tax.ohio.gov, checked September 15, 2026). Ontario says you "may be charged interest and penalty" and does not print the figure on its IFTA page (ontario.ca, updated May 19, 2026). Either way the return is late on the first day after the due date, which is why the report is worth building in the first week after the quarter closes, not the last.
