Get to know Chris Beard.

I joined TransPlus in 2016 after spending 15 years as the Operations Manager at Ulch Transport. I had purchased the Fleet Manager software application in 1999 which became an essential part of our business. After getting to know the leadership team at TransPlus and doing some soul searching, I decided to seize an opportunity and make a career change to the Software industry from Trucking. I saw the power and efficiency Fleet Manager brought to our Trucking business and wanted to help other companies achieve that same level of success.

At TransPlus I have become a product expert for Fleet Manager TMS Software and continue to leverage my passion for business, and extensive trucking industry knowledge in a variety of roles. As a Training Specialist I am responsible for onboarding, coaching and training customers, as we continue to grow and evolve our position in the market. As a Sales Engineer I support our sales team with product demos, messaging, product positioning and sales strategy. I also train, and coach new employees, and often get involved in process improvement initiatives. I have become very passionate about Fleet Manager and the trucking industry in general and I really enjoy seeing customers benefit from an exceptional Software application.

What is your favorite thing about working at TransPlus?

What I like most are the dedicated people who all have a collaborative spirit. The fast-paced culture at TransPlus allows for creative independence from a very supportive and talented leadership team. I also like working closely with new and existing customers and having the ability to meet new people and build new relationships. As a 20+ year-old company with a mature product and tremendous demand, TransPlus has a very exciting future ahead and I am happy to be part of it.

How has your career grown since starting at TransPlus?

I have a greater understanding of software development and what it takes to become an industry leading company. I have learned a lot about a wide variety of topics from software configuration, networking, product integrations, to honing my solution-driven sales skills to developing and delivering training material.

What is something interesting that people don't know about you?

I am terrified of heights! My parents had a condo on the 14th floor and the balcony railings were all glass. I couldn’t sit out there without my teeth chattering.
